As part of the 100th anniversary of the Asia Minor disaster, the Diachronic Museum hosts the temporary exhibition "Memories from Forgotten Homelands" with relics of refugees from Cappadocia.

The Greeks of Cappadocia came to the Greek area in 1924 after the exchange of populations and several of them settled in rural areas of Larissa. The preserved relics bear witness to the unshakable faith in their religious traditions and the particular cultural paths they followed, with the consequence that they stand out among the other Greek communities of Asia Minor.

The exhibition, which includes images, sacred vessels and gold embroidery from Omorfochori of Larisa as well as books, documents and other personal belongings of refugees from private collections, is co-organized by the Antiquities Ephorate of Larisa and the Holy Diocese of Larisa and Tyrnavos, with the cooperation of the Omorfochori Community and the Historical-Folkographic Association of Larisa "Unforgotten Homelands".

Exhibition duration: November 5, 2022 – March 31, 2023.
