The presence of Christianity in Thessaly is marked by the abandoning of the ancient temples as it is confirmed by the recurved pilaster capital of the basilica found in Cyprus Street in Larissa. Architectural sculpture of the early Christian temples, murals, inscriptions, objects of ceremonial equipment illustrate the religious art of the times, while characteristic are the findings from the basilica of St. Achillios, which reinforce the identification of the temple with the saint protector and archbishop of the city, bearing the same name.
The exhibited mosaic floors come from luxurious mansions and bath structures of Larissa, bearing presentations of secular content, having Dionysus as their main subject. Moreover, objects of everyday life and the economy of the period are presented mainly by household objects, coins, commercial amphorae and elements regarding the castles and the fortifications.
